Following the initiative provided by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council, South Cave Parish Council looked into various ways to promote the principle of Local Agenda 21, deciding that a Market could provide a benefit to the community, and help the economy of local farmers.
Local meat and vegetables are available together with home made cakes and pies, chutneys and honey, plants, fish, bread, pottery, eggs and with a local charity or organisation on hand to provide refreshments and a cake stall. The South Cave Farmers’ Market is now well established, operating successfully for more than ten years and is well supported both by local residents and by local producers.
Commencing October 2014, the Parish Council handed the Market to the Traders to continue the monthly market operating from 8:30am until 12:00 noon, on the second Saturday of every month. Arrangements for October 2014 Market are currently underway. For further information on the Market, please contact Katie May on 07941733527
