1506   Consultations

(i)The Committee considered the Joint Waste Development Plan Document – Issues and Options, with Cllr  Wright proposing that South Cave Parish Council welcomes the general approach to the strategic plans for Waste and recycling; and that it is felt the Plan is lacks substance with regard to local recycling facilities, such as local sort centres; therefore, the Council would like to see more policies with regard to localising waste management, rather than accruing more transportation miles; and would like to see policies to encourage greater information dissemination, to educate the general public even further than current steps being proposed, seconded Cllr Mrs Manley, All in favour.
(ii)Councillors considered the Joint Minerals Development Plan Document, and considered attendance at the minerals workshop on 12th June 2008 at Beverley 2.00pm – 4.00pm Cllr Marsh Proposed that Cllrs Mrs Manley and Mrs Turner attend the workshop, and that the Parish Council welcomes the Plan in principle but would make two main points worthy of further consideration - Whilst the polices for extraction of minerals seem adequate, there appears to be little formal policy regarding the use of the extraction sites once the site is no longer  economically viable. We would like to see greater involvement at this planning stage of the end use of such sites.  Also, we consider that the publicity for planning development on extraction sites is minimal, the Council would suggest hat a publicity policy over and above statutory requirements is put in place at this stage, seconded Cllr Mrs Turner, All in favour.

(iii)Councillors considered the East Riding of Yorkshire Council Local Development Framework – Issues and Options presentation. Cllr Marsh proposed that this matter, along with a copy of the consultation questions be put before Council at a meeting to be held on 2nd June 2008, seconded Cllr Mrs Turner, All in favour. The document is available on line or to view at the Parish Council office
