02.09.21 FURTHER UPDATES/INFORMATION TO FOLLOW
02.09.21 15:07 update – Message received from EYRC:
The works are confined to a small section of Church Street & Church Hill Between The Library and the Access into Cave Castle. The scheme is to resurface this section of worn-out carriageway surface some of the badly worn ironwork is to be replaced with the remainder being adjusted to the final surface level before the new road surface is laid, new road markings are then to be applied.
The road closure has been booked for 1 week however it is anticipated that the works will take 3 days to complete. Access to South Cave Primary School, the Sports Centre and the Library will be maintained from the Market Place end of the works, Access to North Cave & Cave Castle will be via West End, Information signs will be placed to assist with access details. Residents from Thornham Close will have access however as the works are past the junction some delays may be inevitable. A residents information letter will be sent to all affected properties in due course.
Due to the restricted width of Church Street & Church Hill the road will be closed to through traffic with a signed traffic diversion route for the full 3 days and nights, The works are due to start on site at 09.15 and finish by 15.00 each day so not to upset any of the children at school start or leaving times. I have been in contact with Passenger Transport section who are liaising with both school bus providers and normal service bus companies to arrange for alternative routes etc.
